Call of Action Event

Comunity violence has been at the forefront of Baltimore's crime statistics for years. Knowing someone who has been a victim, a witness of, or directly impacted by murder by high school graduation is not uncommon. Each of FMK’s leaders has been personally impacted by violence with a family member mnd/or friend. To combat this type of trauma via statistics and experience, For My Kidz was founded in 2006 to support youth and families to find a pathway to success by breaking barriers.

As our latest initiative, that For My Kidz and We Responders have joined forces to organize A Call For Action Summit in the Greater Mondawmin Neighborhood Community on Saturday, April 27th. The event will be held in Walbrook Community Center at 2636 W. North Ave. The primary goal of this summit is to provide essential STOP The Bleed training to business owners and community leaders, empowering them to effectively respond to emergency situations.

Your support will play a significant role in our mission to create a safer neighborhood where everyone is prepared to respond to emergencies effectively. We truly believe that with your assistance, we can make a lasting impact on the safety and well-being of our community.

We look forward to the possibility of working together to achieve our shared goal of a more prepared and resilient community.

Trip to Blk Swan

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, For My Kidz had the privilege to take a few of its mentees from KIPP Academy on a field trip to Blk Swan, one of Baltimore’s hottest new restaurants, for an intimate Etiquette Dinner facilitated by Executive Chef Saon “Sweets” Brice and supported by Events Coordinator Deanny Curry.

The scholars were treated to a personalized 3-course menu along with signature Blk Swan mocktails. The items on the menu were created especially for them in order to awaken their palettes to new and enticing flavors.

The students were mandated to dress appropriately for the experience as well keep their attendance in order along with keeping behavior disturbances to a minimum, participating in sessions, and to have displayed leadership qualities in the past 2 months during programming.

They loved thor trip and cannot wait for another outing experience. Blk Swan thanked FMKas well, stating “we were the best behaved group so far”.
